Trade deficit decreases €323.3 million

Τrade deficit in the period January-April 2018 recorded a decrease of €323.3 million, compared to the corresponding period last year, according to the data released Monday by the Statistical Service of Cyprus.
 
Traded deficit was € 1,350.9 million in January-April 2018 compared to € 1,674.2 million in the corresponding period of 2017.

 Total imports (covering total imports from third countries and from EU Member States) in January-April 2018 amounted to €2,952.9 mn as compared to €2,485.7 mn in January-April 2017. Total exports (covering total exports to third countries and to EU Member States) in January-April 2018 were €1,602.0 mn compared to €811.5 mn in January-April 2017.


During April 2018 total imports (covering total imports from third countries and from EU Member States) valued at €1,006.6 mn as compared to €615.8 mn in April 2017.
 
Total exports (covering total exports to third countries and to EU Member States), including stores and provisions, in April 2018 amounted to €333.1 mn as compared to €210.5 mn in April 2017.
Exports of domestically produced goods, including stores and provisions in April 2018 were €127.2 mn as compared to €85.5 mn in April 2017 whilst exports of foreign goods, including stores and provisions, in April 2018 were €205.8 mn as compared to €125,0 mn in April 2017.
 Total domestic exports of industrial products in April 2018 were €114.0 mn compared to €70.1 mn in April 2017. Total domestic exports of agricultural products in April 2018 were €11.7 mn compared to €13.4 mn in April 2017.
