Wholesale and retail trade up by 4.8 in 2018

The Turnover Value Index of Wholesale and Retail Trade and Repair of Motor Vehicles for the period January-December 2018 increased by 4.8% year on year, the Cyprus Statistical Service said on Friday.

The index reached 124 units in 2018 compared with 118.3 units in 2017.

For the period October-December 2018 the index increased by 2,7% to 125,6 units (base 2015=100), compared to 122,3 units during the same period of 2017.

Furthermore, the Turnover Value Index of Wholesale Trade except of Motor Vehicles for the period October-December 2018 increased by 6,1% to 121,0 units (base 2015=100), compared to 114,0 units during the same period of 2017.

For the period January-December 2018, the Index recorded an increase of 6,9% compared to the corresponding period of 2017, Cystat added.
