Energy Minister departs for New York

Minister of Energy, Commerce, Industry and Tourism Yorgos Lakkotrypis will meet with US Assistant Secretary for the Bureau of Energy Resources Francis Fannon and officials of energy companies operating in the Cypriot Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ).

According to a PIO announcement the Minister departs Tuesday for New York where he will have high level meetings on energy issues and investments.

The Minister will accompany the President of the Republic Nicos Anastasiades to a Cyprus Business Forum on Friday morning, presenting to American and foreign investors and entrepreneurs the developments regarding the exploration of hydrocarbons in the Republic of Cyprus and in the Eastern Mediterranean, as well as the prospects for Cyprus to become a regional energy hub.

The Forum, co-organized by Capital Link, the Cypriot Shipowners` Association and Invest Cyprus, will also be attended by the Deputy Minister for European and Eurasian Affairs Matthew Palmer.

Lakkotrypis will depart from New York on Saturday, September 29th.
