Fuel up by 2,5 cents

19/04/2002 10:22
During the House of Representatives’ meeting yesterday, it was decided to increase the price of fuel by 2,5 cents, 1,5 cents per litre less than the government’s proposal. The figures were voted unanimously with the exception of the Environmentalists Party who abstained from the vote. The increase will be in force until the end of May 2002 and will then be reviewed under the light of any new circumstances.

Following the increase on fuel, farmers will receive a subsidy of CYP 800.000 to offset the increase.

By the increase, as of today, the price of Extra leaded and unleaded petrol will be 45.60 cents per litre and crude oil 18.80 cents per litre.
