Petroleum products sales down in February by 7%

The total sales of petroleum products recorded this February an annual decrease of 7% to 107,779 tonnes, according to data published by the Statistical Service of Cyprus, on Monday.

During the period January – February 2023, the total sales of petroleum products fell by 4.3% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.

According to the official data, a 63.5% decrease was observed in the provisions of marine gasoil in February, while a 24.5% and 9.5% decrease was recorded in the sales of heavy and light fuel oil respectively and a 0.4% decrease recorded in road diesel sales.

On the contrary, a rise was recorded in the provisions of aviation kerosene, which increased by 43.5%, as well as in the sales of asphalt, up by 9.6%, heating gasoil up by 6.3%, kerosene 5.8%, motor gasoline 3.1% and liquefied petroleum gases 2.5%.

Sales from filling stations have registered a marginal fall of 0.3% to 53,669 tonnes.

The total sales of petroleum products in February 2023 compared to January 2023 recorded a drop of 2.7%.

Indicatively, a drop was recorded in the provisions of aviation kerosene by 6.1%, marine gasoil by 5.9% and of motor gasoline 3.7%, while the sales of road diesel slightly increased by 0.2%.

Total stocks of petroleum products at the end of February 2023 rose by 1%, compared to the end of the previous month.
