Petroleum products' sales record significant monthly increase in January

Total sales of petroleum products in Cyprus recorded a significant increase in January this year on a monthly basis, data released by the Cyprus Statistical Service on Thursday show.

In January 2020, total petroleum products` sales recorded a drop of 8.4% compared to January 2019.

However, compared to the previous month total sales of petroleum products were up in January 2020 by 6.2%.

Provisions of gasoil for marine use and aviation kerosene were up this January, as well as in the sales of light fuel oil, kerosene, gasoil and liquefied petroleum gases.

On the contrary, a drop was observed in the sales of heavy fuel oil, motor gasoline, gasoil low sulphur and asphalt.

Total stocks of petroleum products at the end of the month recorded an increase of 19.6% compared to the previous month.

During January 2020, total sales of petroleum products recorded a drop of 8.4% compared to the same month of the previous year.
