Sales of petroleum products up by 18.9% in June 2021

Sales of petroleum products in June 2021 amounted to 110,071 tonnes, recording a rise of 18.9% compared to June 2020, according to data released Tuesday by the Statistical Service of Cyprus.

An increase was observed in the provisions of aviation kerosene (301.2%) and marine gasoil (3.7%), as well as in the sales of asphalt (58.9%), liquefied petroleum gases (13.7%), motor gasoline (10.2%) and road diesel (9.9%). On the contrary, a decrease was recorded in the sales of kerosene (-72.6%) and heating gasoil (-7.5%).

As far as the sales from filling stations are specifically concerned, these have registered a rise of 7.0% to 59,092 tonnes.

The total sales of petroleum products in June 2021 compared to May 2021 recorded a rise of 22.0%. Indicatively, the sales of motor gasoline increased by 23.2% and of road diesel by 22.8%, while the provisions of aviation kerosene rose by 56.9%.

The total stocks of petroleum products at the end of June 2021 recorded a drop of 16,8% compared to the end of the previous month.

During the period January – June 2021, the total sales of petroleum products decreased by 4.3% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.
