Sales of petroleum products down by 1.5% in January

Total sales of petroleum products amounted to 110,756 tonnes in January 2023, recording a drop of 1.5% compared to January 2022, according to data published by the Cyprus Statistical Service on Thursday.

According to the data, a 35.7% decrease was observed in the provisions of marine gasoil, while the sales of kerosene fall by 42%, heating gasoil by 31.7%, heavy fuel oil by 25.6% and liquefied petroleum gases by 22.1%.

On the contrary, a rise was recorded in the provisions of aviation kerosene by 47.1%, as well as in the sales of asphalt by 26.6%, motor gasoline by 13.4%, light fuel oil by 12.8% and road diesel by 6.8%. However, sales from filling stations have registered a fall of 3.4% to 52,822 tonnes.

Compared to December 2022, total sales of petroleum products in January 2023 recorded a drop of 6.3%. Indicatively, a fall was recorded in the sales of road diesel, which decreased by 13.6% and motor gasoline by 12.8%, while the provisions of aviation kerosene slightly increased by 2.3%.

Total stocks of petroleum products at the end of January 2023 dropped by 4.1% compared to the end of the previous month.
