Sales of petroleum products drop by 21% in November 2020

Total sales of petroleum products in Cyprus recorded a drop of 21% annually in November last year, while for the first eleven months of 2020 there was a drop of 19.1%, data released by the Cyprus Statistical Service on Thursday show.

In particular, in November 2020, the total sales of petroleum products amounted to 94,608 tonnes, recording a decrease of 21.0% compared to November 2019.

A fall was observed in the provisions of aviation kerosene by 66.0% as well as in the sales of motor gasoline by 15.9% and gasoil low sulphur by 4.6%, CyStat says.

As far as the sales from filling stations are specifically concerned, these have registered a fall of 8.9% to 52,292 tonnes, it adds.

Total sales of petroleum products in November 2020 compared to October 2020 recorded a decrease of 10.5%.

A drop was recorded in the provisions of aviation kerosene by 46.0% and marine gasoil by 10.6%, as well as in the sales of light fuel oil by 43.3%, motor gasoline by 17.1% and gasoil low sulphur by 8.4%.

On the contrary, an increase was observed in the sales of kerosene, gasoil and liquefied petroleum gases.

The total stocks of petroleum products at the end of November 2020 recorded an increase of 12.1% compared to the end of the previous month.

During the period January – November 2020, the total sales of petroleum products registered a decrease of 19.1% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.
