Sales of petroleum products increase on annual basis

Total sales of petroleum products marked a reduction on a monthly basis in December 2019, but an increase on an annual basis, according to the Statistical Service of Cyprus.

In an announcement, the Statistical Service noted that the total sales of petroleum products in December 2019 recorded a reduction of 5.3% compared to the previous month. A decrease was observed in the sales of Heavy Fuel Oil, Asphalt, Gasoil Low Sulphur, as well as in the provisions of Aviation Kerosene and Gasoil for Marine use.

On the contrary, a rise was recorded in the sales of Kerosene, Gasoil, Liquefied Petroleum Gases and Motor Gasoline.

The total stocks of petroleum products at the end of the month recorded a drop of 28.6% compared to the previous month.

Total sales of petroleum products in 2019 were up by 0.5% compared to the previous year. Sales of Gasoil Low Sulphur increased by 4.1%, while the sales of Motor Gasoline decreased by 2.3%.

A rise was also observed in the sales of Kerosene (35.4%), Gasoil (24.4%) and Liquefied Petroleum Gases (13.0%). On the other hand, a decline was observed in the sales of Heavy (10.6%) and Light (1.7%) Fuel Oil and Asphalt (8.2%).

Provisions of Gasoil for Marine use increased by 5.0% while the provisions of Aviation Kerosene fell by 4.4%.
