Sales of petroleum products rise by an annual 25% in October

Sales of Petroleum products in Cyprus rose by an annual 25.2% in October amounting to 132,329 tonnes, data released by the Statistical Service of Cyprus (Cystat) show.

Total fuel sales in the period of January – October 2021, the total sales of petroleum products increased by 3.4% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, Cystat added.

Comped with October 2020, petroleum product were mainly pushed upwards by the provisions of aviation kerosene with 141.6%, marine gasoil with 21%, as well as in the sales of kerosene with 130.8%, light fuel oil with 53.8%, heating gasoil with 39.7%, liquefied petroleum gases 15.3%, heavy fuel oil with 12.1% and asphalt with 10.1%.

A small decrease was recorded in the sales of road diesel -2.7% and motor gasoline -0.4%.

Fuel sales from filling stations are specifically concerned, these have registered an increase of 0.8% to 55,962 tonnes, Cystat added.

Compared with the previous month of 2021, the total sales of petroleum products in October 2021 registered an increase of 4.0%, pushed upwards by the provisions of aviation kerosene which rose by 3.5%, while the sales of motor gasoline fell by 12.2% and those of road diesel by 10%.

Fuel stocks at the end of October 2021 rose by 6.8% compared to the end of the previous month, Cystat added.
