Ecologist MP and spokesman, Giorgos Perdikis stated on Friday that he sees positively the bill for the allocation of €20 million to Cyprus Airways against the losses that the national carrier faces from the Turkish embargo. At the same time, he said that his party favours the privatization of its services and urged all parties to turn to the airport manager.

In his statements after his meeting with representatives of the CAIR trade unions, Mr. Perdikis said that the latest developments in the area are alarming and a possible new oil crisis is just around the corner. “We will examine the bill with a positive view. The political parties must turn to the airport manager, which acts in a way that hits CAIR and the public sector so as to face the national carrier with seriousness.

SYNYKA Chairman, Andreas Pierides reiterated that the meeting was in the context of the contacts that the trade unions have with the parliamentary parties so as to safeguard the bill’s support. “The bill is of great importance for the survival of Cyprus Airways”, he concluded.
