CAIR pilots state their demands

PASYPI and the Cyprus Airways Management held an informal meeting on Thursday afternoon to discuss the labour relations in the company and the pilots’ demands, so as to avoid the 48-hour strike next week.

On Monday, August 21, the pilots will decide whether they will cancel the strikes, which had been called due to a dispute with the Board of Directors on the restructuring plan.

The pilots focused on three demands; They insisted that the fleet should remain the same (11 aircrafts), they referred to the salary and benefit cutbacks and they recommended that in 2010 they should return to the pay scales of 2004.

The next meeting to take place on Monday will be attended by the Cyprus Airways Chairman, Lazaros Savvides.
