CY seek government aid for insurance cover

Following the recent terrorist attacks on the US, airlines throughout the world are experiencing added problems as far as the insurance cover required for flights is concerned on top of reduced bookings. Cyprus Airways is no exception and if by tomorrow the additional funds are not found to supplement the increased insurance cover required for flights, then some of its flights could be grounded.

The House Finance Committee views such assistance to Cyprus Airways as necessary, taking into consideration also that the recent EU Finance Ministers convention approved government aid to their respective national carriers.
