CPB and HB legal advisers on defense - CPC

23/09/2003 13:49
After having filed their appeals in writing on September 22, the legal advisers of the Popular and the Hellenic Banks will proceed to the pleading on Tuesday afternoon to conclude the first phase of the “trial” from the Competition Protections Committee.

The legal advisers are expected to adopt a common defensive line, questioning the facts and figures collected by CPC and requesting a mistrial.

On the other hand, the Competition Protection Committee is already elaborating the appeals and its decision will determine the future of the trial. If CPC rejects the appeals, the banks will be accused for “forbidden cooperation”. Otherwise they will be discharged.

Muskita Aluminium

Muskita Aluminium will be brought to trial on Thursday, accused for abuse of dominant position by CPC. The deadline for the pleading expires today.
