CAIR must prepare a plan for its survival, govt, says

Transport Minister, Haris Thrasou reiterated on Monday that the government will examine ways to support Cyprus Airways only if the national carrier prepares a plan for its survival. Speaking at a Press Conference, the Minister said that he expects good results from the deliberations between the Company and the employees. “f no agreement is reached, then we will have to examine the alternatives that we have”, the Minister noted.

Mr. Thrasou said that the government has requested the preparation of a plan for the survival of the national carrier in cooperation with the employees. On the question whether he is aware of the new flight schedule effective from today, Mr. Thrasou said that he is aware of the new schedule but stressed that he expects positive results even before the General Meeting of the company to take place on November 29, 2004.
