CAIR: PASYPI criticizes BoD

26/10/2005 15:42
Pilots’ trade union, PASYPI criticized strongly the Board of Directors of Cyprus Airways on Wednesday (especially a specific Board member) for “attempting to dismiss managerial staff members with prestige and long service in the Company in order to fill in the vacancies with “friends”.

In its announcement released today, PASYPI supports that the management’s efforts to bring back old and unsuccessful structures is not right and warned that this would lead to a strong conflict.

“It is too difficult for us to tolerate those that lead labour issues to a new deadlock. The Board of Directors demands by the staff to pay the cost for the erroneous acts and omissions. We are witnesses of unbiased acts. The Company is in the red once again, threatened by serious labour disputes because of a specific Board member who exercises the powers provided by his post”.

PAYSPI also urged the Chairman of the Board of Directors and the government to intervene so as to “restore the order”.
