CAIR – pilots meeting

16/11/2004 11:17
The conciliatory meeting at the Labour Ministry for the lifting of the labour dispute between Cyprus Airways and the pilots’ trade union PASYPI is currently in progress. Despite the fact that the Labour Minister, Christos Taliadoros condemned the two-hour work stoppage held yesterday stressing that PASYPI violated the provisions of the Industrial Relations Code, the Labour Ministry took the initiative without urging the pilots to suspend the strike scheduled for Thursday.

According to sources, the conciliatory meeting will deal with the complaints on behalf of the pilots that the Company has allocated certain scheduled flights to Eurocypria.

The meeting also deals with the role of the pilots in the Company’s action plan for the reduction in the labour and operating cost. The meeting has been attended by the Cyprus Airways Chairman, Constantinos Loizides.
