The Nicosia Criminal Court issued a decree on Wednesday for the confiscation of £4.23 million of Suphire, which was found guilty for the misappropriation of £4.9 million from the pension fund of the Electricity Authority of Cyprus. The request, which concerned the confiscation of assets of Mr. Andronikou, was rejected as, according to the Court, he did not have a personal benefit.
The sentence will be announced on Tuesday, October 30, 2007. The Court decided that his wife, Rea Andronikou, is innocent. Investigations had started on March 15, 2005.
