04/04/2005 13:35
The Nicosia District Court renewed on Monday the imprisonment decree of the Suphire Executive Chairman, Yiannos Andronikou, to facilitate interrogations on the deficit of £9.2 million in the EAC Pension Fund. “Interrogations have not been completed yet and the renewal of the detention is deemed necessary so that witnesses are not affected”, police lieutenant of the Crime Detection Department, Ioannis Kelepesiis said. The suspect’s advocate, Giorgos Georgiou said that his client will not object.

It is noted that Mr. Kelepesiis told before the Nicosia District Court judge, Natalie Talaridou-Kontopoulou that he is suspicious about the disappearance of a disc from a computer of Suphire and the deletion of a number of transactions and accounts from another pc. “So far, we have on our disposal 63 testimonies. Our work will be completed with 30 testimonies more”, he concluded.
