Eurobank invests in Demetra

The Greek Eurobank invested in Demetra Investments. According to a “Politis” report which was confirmed by StockWatch sources, Eurobank bought 631,586 Demetra shares at an average price of €0.87. Eurobank bought shares in Demetra after the latter’s buyback of own shares on Thursday, October 11, 2007. Eurobank holds 0.32% of the investment company.

Demetra sources say that the participation of the Greek group strengthens the presence of foreign institutional investors, while this strategy will boost the liquidity of the Company’s shares.

The Cooperatives are the major shareholder of DEM, controlling 25% of its share capital. Among the Coops, Lefkonoiko holds 10%, Strovolos Coop 3.44% and Limassol Savings Coop 3.95% of its shares.

A stake of 3.69% of Demetra is held by Bank of Cyprus, 1.3% by MIG, 0.88% by Deutsche Bank Securities, 0.75% by CLR Investment Fund, 0.68% by Dias Investments and 0.64% by Hellenic Bank.
