Hellas Jet, subsidiary of Cyprus Airways decided on Thursday to terminate its operations on May 10, after the unsuccessful efforts for its sale by the parent company. Cyprus Airways holds 75% of its shares and AEF European Capital Investment of Alpha Bank Group the remaining 25%.

Hellas Jet had scheduled flights to Manchester, Brussels, London and Paris and employed 200 employees. It was established in 2003 in anticipation of the increase in the passenger traffic due to the Olympic Games in Athens 2004 and in order to take advantage of the opportunities that had arisen in the Greek market due to the problems of Olympic Airways.
