Invest Cyprus: Μeetings for Middle East and Persian Gulf markets

The Cyprus Investment Promotion Agency (Invest Cyprus) carried out targeted meetings with businesspeople of the Middle East and the Persian as part of his strategy to promote Cyprus to the markets of the region.

“The United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Jordan, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar consist a region with endless opportunities for our country. Therefore, as the state’s investment promotion agency we are exerting continuous efforts and at the same time leveraging on our excellent bilateral relations which have been significantly upgraded in the last years,” George Campanellas, CEO of Invest Cyprus said, according to a press release.

On the occasion of the commencement of the EXPO 2020 in Dubai, an Invest Cyprus delegation headed by Campanellas held separate meetings with family offices, private equity firms and businesspeople of the region to whom he outlined Cyprus current economic environment and the offered investment opportunities.

Campanellas also had a private meeting with UAE’s Minister of Foreign Trade Dr.Thani Ahmed Al Ζeyoudi, with whom he discussed ways of enhancing the bilateral cooperation between the two countries on the basis of a Protocol signed by Cyprus and UAE last November.

Invest Cyprus also took part in a discussion on the promotion of gender equality which took place in the context of EXPO 2020 with the participation of Cypriot Minister of Energy, Commerce and Industry Natasa Pilides and the Permanent Secretary of the Deputy Ministry of Research, Innovation and Digital Policy, Stelios Chimonas, who has been made Commissioner General for the Cypriot participation to the EXPO2020.
