Louis upgrades the fleet

Four days after the signing of an agreement with EasyCruise of Stelios Hadjiioannou, Louis announced on Friday that it has acquired one more cruise ship (the Orient Queen) by Orient Queen Shipping Inc. with the method of bareboat/hire purchase.

According to the announcement, “the bareboat/hire purchase period will be 5-year with immediate effect. Louis has the right to buy the ship in the first six months against the sum of $22 million, which will be deducted all the sums that will be submitted based on the hire/purchase contract. If the company acquires the ship in the first six months, the payment will be equal to the discounted total of the remaining payments based on the hire purchase contract”.

“The “Orient Queen” is of 15,781 tons, has been fully refurbished ($22 million) in 2005 and belongs to the “luxury cruise ships” category. She is of 163.30 meters and carries 850 passengers in 370 cabins with all comforts, including interactive plasma TV’s. The “Orient Queen” has 2 swimming pools, Jacuzzi, impressive casino, various entertainment rooms, beauty salon, gym, heliport, etc”, the announcement added.

“With the “Orient Queen”, Louis’ fleet contains 13 self-owned cruise ships. The purchase of “Orient Queen” is expected to increase the Company’s turnover and have positive impact on its profitability”, the announcement concluded.
