Number of investment funds up for sixth quarter in Q3

The number of investment funds registered in Cyprus rose for a sixth consecutive quarter in the end of September 2022, while their assets declined by 5.48% compared with June 2022, figures released by the Central Bank of Cyprus show.

According to the CBC, the number of the reporting entities rose to 284 in the third quarter of 2022 from 274 in the previous quarter.

Total assets declined to €8.23 billion in the end of the third quarter, from €8.7 billion in the previous quarter, while total assets marked a reduction of 3.61% compared with the respective period of last year.

Deposits and loans rose to €856.5 million in Q3 2022 from €837 million in the previous quarter, while securities and bonds declined to €799 million from €831 million in the Q2.

Total shares and other equity amounted to €6.06 billion in Q3 from €6.5 billion in the previous quarter, whereas non-financial assets, including fixed assets, rose to €316 million in end-September from €301 in the end of June 2022, the CBC said.

As far as investment funds’ liabilities are concerned, loans declined to €536 million in Q3 2022, from €617 million in the previous quarter, while shares dropped to €7.48 billion from €7.82 billion in the previous quarter. Other liabilities also declined to €208 million in end-September from €264 million in the end of June.
