Promotion of CY to the French

The seminar that was held in Limassol on June 3, 2010 presented the different opinions concerning the services in Europe and Cyprus’s position as international business centre.

The seminar was co-organized by the Business Cyprus – France Association, the French Foreign Trade Advisers and with the cooperation of the French Embassy in Nicosia.

The seminar was addressed by the French Ambassador, Α. Ε. Jean-Marc Rives and Pierre Godec, Chairman of the French Foreign Trade Advisers in Cyprus.

According to the relevant announcement, the issues presented by the speakers covered the sector of services, the banking sector, the shipping and the new tax framework of the Cyprus merchant marine. The speakers were: Mr. Michalis Kammas, General Manager of ACCB, Mr. Fedias Pilides, Chairman of CIPA, Mr. Thomas Kazakos, General Manager of Cyprus Naval Chamber, Mr. Michalis Sarris, former Finance Minister and Mr. Constantinos Kapsalis, partner in PWC. The foreign speakers talked about their own professional experience in Cyprus.

The Forum’s aim is to promote Cyprus as regional centre for the provision of professional services and its presentation as an attractive destination of investment opportunities to the French businessmen, who visited Cyprus in the opportune of the Annual General Meeting of the European Foreign Trade advisers in France on June 3-4, 2010.
