Press: Extension for multiple pensions

The major issue in today’s financial press is the forward of the bill on the abolition of multiple pensions to the House Finance Committee on Thursday.

Other issues concern the approval of the law on the taxation of the banks and the new increase in the price of fuel.

The “Economy” inset of newspaper “Phileleftheros” refers to the approval of the law on the taxation of the banks by the Parliament. According to the report, the House approved the permanency of the additional tax on the bank deposits after a joint amendment submitted by DISY and DIKO. After 2013, the revenues that will emerge from the tax will be transferred to the Financial Stability Fund.

Elsewhere the newspaper refers to Marfin’s decision to issue convertible capital securities of €294 million.
