The major issues in today’s financial press are the draft of the new updated memorandum to be handed to the government tomorrow by the troika and the agreement that the government will reach with the European Restructuring and Development Bank for its participation in the management of 18% of former Liaki Bank

The “Economy” inset of newspaper “Phileleftheros” refers to the draft of the new updated memorandum to be handed to the government tomorrow by the heads of the troika. According to the report, the deliberations on a technocratic level were completed during the weekend and the talks on a politico-governmental level will start today. The troika will complete its meetings in the CB today. Today, its representatives will meet with the Association of Banks to examine possible impacts on the Cyprus system from the Ukrainian crisis. Meetings will also be held for issues of the former Laiki Bank.

Elsewhere the newspaper reports that the President of the Republic ensured yesterday that no other taxes or cutbacks will be imposed but there will be plans for incentives that will contribute to the reboot of the economy.

The “Economy” inset of newspaper “Politis” refers to the OECD report, according to which the global economy will grow by 3.4% this year while the economy in the euro area will grow by 1.2% this year and 1.7% in 2015.

“Politis” also reports that Moody’s updated Portugal’s public debt by one notch.

The newspaper “Simerini” reports that the government is close to reach an agreement with the European Restructuring and Development Bank for its participation in the management of 18% of former Laiki Bank. According to the report, the issue will be discussed on Wednesday at the Annual General Meeting of the bank in Warsaw.

The newspaper also refers to the IRD data on revenues in the first quarter of the year. According to them, the revenues for the period stood at €404.88 million compared to€380.7 million in the corresponding period of 2013.
