Press: Punishment through abstinence

The major issue in today’s press is the results of the euro-elections. The majority of the electorate did not vote, sending a clear message to the parties and indicating their devaluation toward the political system. The abstinence rate soared to 56.03%. All parties felt puzzled and promised to take the message sent by the citizens. DISY and AKEL took to seats each, DIKO one and the cooperation of EDEK and Ecologists one.
