Press: Tough week for the economy

The major issues in today’s financial press are the amendments of the parties for the foreclosures to be tabled to the Parliament today and the private meeting between the Cooperatives and the Finance Ministry and the equal burden-sharing organization for the non-performing loans.

The newspaper “Politis” refers to the key decisions to be taken by the government for the management of natural gas deposits. Specifically, the government will have to decide whether to sell natural gas to neighbouring countries for speedy enjoyment of income or if it will exhaust all time margins for the construction of the liquefaction terminal at Vassiliko.

As noted, the Coops demand €70 million against state guarantee for the non-performing loans of refugees from the equal burden-sharing organization, however, the Finance Ministry does not consent.

The newspaper also reports that the opposition is preparing parliamentary 'war' with the aim of full disclosure on remuneration and benefits of committees and boards appointed by the government.
