Press: Uncertainty for “haircut”

The major issues in today’s financial press are the start of the House Finance Committee’s talks on the state budget 2012 and the talks in the EU on the need to extend the “haircut” of the Greek bonds by more than 21%.

The “Economy” inset of newspaper “Phileleftheros” refers to the House Finance Committee’s session today, when the Finance Minister will inform its members on the fiscal condition, giving special emphasis to the objective of 2012 for a deficit equal to 2.8% of GDP from 6% estimated in 2011. According to the report, the budget 2012 provides for revenues, excluding loans, of €6,221 million compared to revised revenues of €5,648 million in 2011.

Elsewhere the newspaper reports that according to the Russian Finance Minister, Russia will offer financial aid to Cyprus.

The “Economy” inset of newspaper “Politis” reports that in view of the Summit on October 23, the negotiations between France and Germany for the recapitalization of the European banks and the haircut of the Greek debt continue.

“Politis” also highlights that according to a Cushman & Wakefield survey, Athens ranks 36th in the attractiveness of a business establishment in Athens.
