Designation of five investment firms as other systemically important institutions

The Central Bank of Cyprus has designated Renaissance Securities (Cyprus) Ltd, SIB (Cyprus) Ltd, Broker Credit Service (Cyprus) Ltd, Alfa Capital Holdings (Cyprus) Ltd and Etoro (Europe) Ltd as Other Systemically Important Institutions (O-SII institutions) and set the level of the additional capital they must maintain as a result of their systemic importance.

According to a statement, this measure will take effect on 1 April 2019. The decision was taken following consultation with the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission
