The Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission asked by the Cyprus Investment Firms to state no later than Friday, November 4 whether they had any cooperation with the American financial company 'MF Global'.

In its circular, SEC Chairwoman, Demetra Kalogirou, urged the CIFs to indicate the impact you expect to have on the funds and financial instruments of your clients, due to the application for bankruptcy of 'MF Global' (give details on the total number of your clients and the total amount of their assets affected).

MF Global, which collapsed on Monday, admitted to the US authorities using clients' money as its financial troubles mounted, the AP reported.

MF Global did not keep its customers' money separate from its own, CME Group CEO Craig Donohue said on Tuesday.

MF Global filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection on Monday.
