CAIR pilots want strategic investor

18/01/2012 15:06
Pilots, members of PASYPI, want Cyprus Airways to be taken by strategic investor and blame its management for failing dealing with the challenges of the times.

The pilots protested outside the Cyprus Airways Head Office today, at the same time that the Board of Directors was having a meeting. They criticized the management that it violates unilaterally the flight schedule of the pilots and infringes the existing union contracts.

They also delivered a memo to the Finance Minister and the company.

In the memo, they urged the government to find a strategic investor so as to cover the liquidity problems.

They called for further synergies and alliances in the sector of airline destinations and stressed the need for a National Carrier.

They pointed out the Management’s failure and reminded that the staff accepted a series of measures, such as the cut of 9% of their salary in the form of contribution to the company.
