Lorry drivers stay firm

15/12/2004 12:42
Lorry drivers decided to stay firm to their views on Wednesday, despite the reaching of an agreement with the Transport Minister last night. The Minister’s proposal concerns a new bill with certain amendments that will safeguard the agreement between the two sides and will be brought before the Council of Ministers today. The first bill safeguards the agreement for license “A” and the second provides the granting of licenses “B” to vehicles below 20 tons.

At a meeting held today, the lorry drivers decided (16 for and 5 against) that they should wait until the approval of the bill.

It is still unknown, however, whether the government will proceed to the submission of the bill after the latest developments.
