Number of job vacancies in 1st quarter of 2021 drops annually by 5.8%

The number of job vacancies in the 1st quarter of 2021 reached 6,761, recording an annual change of -5.8%

According to the Statistical Service of Cyprus, the number of job vacancies decreased by 416 (5.8%) compared to the same quarter of the previous year where the number was 7,177. Compared to the 4th quarter of 2020 the number of job vacancies increased by 1,797 (36.2%).

The job vacancy rate in the 1st quarter of 2021 was 2.0%, while the job vacancy rate in the previous quarter and the 1st quarter of 2020 was 1.3% and 2.0% respectively.

The largest job vacancy rates in the 1st quarter of 2021 were observed in the Sectors of Information and Communication (5.5%), Manufacturing (3.2%), Human Health and Social Work Activities (2.9%) and Accommodation and Food Service Activities (2.5%).
