Cyprus’ Minister of Health Constantinos Ioannou and EU Commissioner for Health and Food Safety Stella Kyriakides discussed various aspects of the coronavirus pandemic and actions on a national and European level, during a meeting on Wednesday.
Ioannou informed Kyriakides about the actions on behalf of Cyprus and the current epidemiological picture.
The Minister of Health also referred to the cases found in Cyprus, noting that for some no epidemiological connection has been determined. This, he explained, indicates that a portion of the population is not adhering to the measures and protocols, noting that a resurgence of the virus could only be prevented if everyone displayed caution.
They also discussed the issue of vaccines and negotiations on behalf of the European Commission, at the initiative of Kyriakides, for the supply of vaccines to all member states.
