The head of Cyprus Negotiation Group, Georgos Vasileiou, along with the representatives of the Danish Presidency and the officials of the European Commission examined the chapters of Agriculture and Budget.

During the convention held in Brussels aimed at the ‘tracking down’ of issues concerning enlargement negotiations, EU assured that Cyprus accession process is to be completed soon. Moreover EU confirmed that Cyprus economy after the accession is to be as advantageous as it was a year before it.

Finally, the convention was an opportunity for Cyprus to promote its requests over the agricultural sector and specifically the issues of quotas on milk and cereals and beef bounty, as well as other issues concerning the protection and development of rural areas. Last but not least, there were talks over the issue of the replanting of uprooted vineyards.
