Mr. Leopold Maurer, the EU’s Commissioner in charge of Cyprus’s accession negotiations to the EU, is currently on a visit to Cyprus together with other EU officials, and will hold a series of meetings starting today, reviewing Cyprus’ alignment efforts with the acquis communautaire. Mr. Maurer will meet with Cyprus’ Negotiating Team leader Mr. Georgos Vassiliou as well as representatives from the various ministries and services involved, for general discussions and evaluation on the work carried out so far.
The representatives from the EU will be in Cyprus until the 28 February and meetings will also be held with President Glafcos Clerides and members of the High Court.
