The Cyprus Consumers’ Association expressed its disapproval on the fact that the Cyprus government did not invite the Association to have talks on the propsed bill for the taxation of vehicles.

At a meeting with the DISY Deputy Chairman, Averof Neophytoy, the Chairman of the Association, Petros Marcou, stated emphatically that the Consumers’ Association was the first to carry out a research on the cost of the Cyprus cars compared to other European countries and the first to notify that the market value of vehicles is higher than any other European country, especially Greece. “We expected that the government would invite our Association to express its views on the issue”.

Mr. Neophytou agreed that the government should have had a meeting with the Association and urged the latter to do so even at the last moment.
