Tax agreement with Jersey island

19/07/2016 09:04
The Republic of Cyprus signed an Agreement for the Avoidance of Double Taxation and the prevention of fiscal evasion with respect to taxes with the island of Jersey, in a ceremony at London’s Cyprus High Commission last week.

The agreement will enhance further trade and economic relations between Cyprus and Jersey as well as with other countries.

Upgrading and expanding the network of Double Taxation Agreements is considered to be of high economic and political importance and aims to further strengthen Cyprus as an international business centre.

The protocol is based on the OECD Model Tax Convention for the Avoidance of Double Taxation.

It was signed for Cyprus by Euripides Evriviades, High Commissioner of the Republic of Cyprus to the United Kingdom, and for Jersey by Senator Sir Philip Bailhache.
