No soft drink exports in Jan

14/02/2006 14:47
According to CYSTAT data released on Tuesday, although the soft drinks exports in January 2005 stood at 552 thousand, no soft drink was exported abroad in January 2006. This together with a drop of 1.3% in domestic consumption (from 3 million litres in January 2005 to 2.9 million litres in January 2006) pushed total soft drink deliveries down 17% to 2.9 million litres against 3.5 million litres in January 2005.

Exports did not push total deliveries up

Despite the fact that beer exports increased sharply in January 2006, the total beer deliveries dropped due to the significant drop in domestic consumption.

Specifically, beer exports in the same month stood at 45.6 thousand litres compared to 16.9 thousand litres in the corresponding month of 2005.

On the other hand, domestic consumption recorded a drop of 11.4% to 1 million litres against 1.2 million litres in 2005. The total beer deliveries, therefore, dropped 8.8% to 1.1 million litres against 1.2 million litres in January 2005.
