Cyprus Police reported 161 individuals and 2 establishment owners for violating protective measures aiming to contain the spread of COVID-19.
A Police spokesperson told CNA that in the last 24 hours ending at 06:00 local time Tuesday, the Force carried out 10,608 checks throughout the island.
In Nicosia the Police carried out 2,233 checks reporting 14 individuals, in Limassol 2,839 checks were carried out with 82 individuals and one establishment owner reported, in Larnaca 1,660 checks were made with 23 individuals reported, in Pafos 19 citizens were reported following 739 checks.
In Famagusta, the Police carried out 1,423 checks with 18 individuals and one establishment owner reported and in Morphou the Police carried out 918 checks with two persons reported.
The Traffic Department carried out 656 checks with three individuals reported, whereas Port and Marine Police carried out 140 checks respectively with no fines issued.
