125 pedestrians and drivers reported for violations of restrictive measures

Police in Cyprus reported 125 pedestrians and drivers in the last 12 hours as part of the campaign to combat the COVID-19 pandemic.

The 4.620 spot-checks were held from 1800 on Sunday until 0600 Monday morning as well as checks at 509 premises across the government-controlled areas of the Republic with only one violation in Larnaca.

Limassol topped the violations with 46 out of 1.046 spot checks, followed by Nicosia with 1.378 checks and 40 violations, in Paphos  766 checks and 25 violations, in Famagusta 300 spot checks and seven violations, in Larnaca from 869 checks there were five violations and in Morphou region 79 checks resulted with a single violation.

Out of 140 spot-checks the traffic police reported no violations, while the emergency response unit reported one violation out of 42 spot-checks it conducted.
