Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis announced on Thursday that the Republic of Cyprus donates 11,0 million euro to Greece for the recovering of Mati, an area located on the east coast of the Attica region which was affected by a destructive wildfire in the summer of 2018.

Greek Prime Minister has visited Mati today, accompanied by the Ambassador of Cyprus in Greece Kyriakos Kenevezos and church representatives.

8 million euro out of the total donation, will be placed on the construction of housing units for vulnerable citizens that have no shelter after the wildfire. The housing units will be constructed in land owned by the Greek Church.

The rest three million euro will finance the research and the engineering projects for the construction of a Mediterranean green park in the region of Mati – a longstanding request of the local community.
