Cyprus, France and Italy conduct tripartite marine exercise

The Republic of Cyprus, France and Italy will conduct on Thursday a tripartite maritime cooperation exercise, called “CYP/FRA/IT 2019” in the exclusive economic zone (EEZ) of Cyprus.

According to an announcement by the Defence Ministry, the three countries will conduct the “PASSEX” type exercise in the maritime area south of Cyprus and within the EEZ of the Republic, in the framework of their defence cooperation.
 
Navy vessels from the three countries will take part in the drill, in order to improve the operational capabilities of their crews, enhance communication and understanding and promote a spirit of cooperation, the announcement concludes.
