Cyprus launched Tech Ecosystem Map

Cyprus on Wednesday launched the Cyprus Tech Ecosystem Map which would act as a bridge between local tech and innovation ecosystem and international businesses and investment community.

Deputy Minister for Research, Innovation and Digital Policy Kyriakos Kokkinos said in press conference that this new initiative which goes live today,” is a great asset to be leveraged by the whole ecosystem, local and abroad.”

“So, I would like to welcome all to today’s launch of the Cyprus Tech Ecosystem Map, a platform designed to act as a bridge between our local tech and innovation ecosystem and international businesses and investment community,” he added.

Kokkinos also noted that this initiative is evidence of the partnership between the ecosystem, the government, the academia, the private sector and certainly it is also evidence of the efforts and the work that Tech Island is doing so that Cyprus to become a world class destination for talent and innovation ecosystem.

“I dare to say that Tech Island is the propulsive fuel for our innovation ecosystem,” he noted.

He also recalled the EU innovation scoreboard which ranked Cyprus at number 10, whereas while three or four years back our ranking was between 20 and 22.

“So, we progressed so fast in such a short period of time and this certainly attributed to the efforts and the collaboration of the private sector, the investors that trusted our companies,” he said.
