First trilateral meeting in Nicosia

Cyprus House hosts Thursday the first trilateral meeting of Parliamentary Committees on Foreign Affairs of Cyprus - Greece – Israel, that will discuss the substantive and practical aspects of cooperation between the three countries.

According to a press release, the meeting is taking place on the initiative of the President of the Parliamentary Committee for Foreign and European Affairs, Averof Neophytou. The Heads of the Committees of the three countries as well as the members will be attending the meeting.

The participants will be discussing the trilateral cooperation and issues of common interest. Cyprus wishes for these meetings to take place annually.

House Speaker Yiannakis Omirou will address the opening session and Neophytou will be delivering opening remarks. A Joint Declaration will be adopted and a press conference will take place when the meeting is over.

The Greek and Israeli delegations will be received by the President of the Republic, Nikos Anastasiades and the President of Parliament, Yiannakis Omirou. Bilateral meetings between delegations of Cyprus and Greece and Cyprus and Israel will also take place.

Neophytou will host a dinner in honor of the participants.
