Five Richter earthquake shook Cyprus on Thursday

Αn earthquake of the magnitude of 5.0 on the Richter scale shook Cyprus on Thursday afternoon.

Cyprus` Geological Survey Department announced that the quake happened at 16.27 local time and its epicenter was detected near Dasaki tis Achnas, in Famagusta district, 18 km north-east of Larnaka and its depth was 55 km.

The earthquake was felt in all regions of the island but mostly in the area of the epicenter, and the districts of Larnaka,  Famagusta, Nicosia and Limassol and less in the district of Paphos. It was also felt in Syria, Lebanon, Israel and Turkey.
