Chairman of the Employers and Industrialists Federation (OEB), Viron Kranidiotis met with the Justice Minister, Doros Theodorou on Tuesday to discuss the delays in the hearing of civil cases. Mr. Kranitiodis outlined certain complications and difficulties encountered by the Cyprus firms and in the growth of their activities due to the time-consuming procedures in the District Courts.

On the other hand, Mr. Theodorou said that he is well aware of the problems and assured that he will examine OEB’s proposals to simplify procedures.

OEB also urged the state to “take action for the enforcement of laws and the safeguarding of freedom in communications during strikes”. The matter was placed on the agenda as a response to the recent strikes of truck drivers who blocked access to the country's ports.

OEB also outlined its latest initiative on the strengthening of women’s entrepreneurship.
